Vienna - Austria - City Tax - how to collect?

Hi All,

Can someone please help me understand how to collect city tax in Vienna, Austria?

I have checked the online information, which shows the amount and calculation. However, I am specifically looking for a format which can be printed and given to the guests for the city tax.

Hi all, i have just seen the questions you may still have. 

if you do not have a solution to your questions regarding city tax in Vienna, refer to the information on

 which refers to the obligatory statistic on overnight stays which can be done via internet quite easily. The payment of City tax (Ortstaxe) is described on https://www.wien.gv.at/amtshelfer/finanzielles/rechnungswesen/abgaben/ortstaxe.html .

In fact you need to register with the  authority (MA 23), calculate monthly the tax and shall pay each month to an account given. see also http://www.wien.gv.at/statistik/wirtschaft/tourismus/beherbergungsbetriebe.html

Dear Johannes and Johanna, 

Thank you for the very helpful information and above provided links. Just to make sure I have the correct process, is it as follows: 

(1) Buy Gastbuch - can you please let me know from where? 

(2) Register the Gastbuch with MA-23. Can I do this as a private person and not a company? Do I need a stamp and as a private person what does it have to say? Do I stamp the document before registering the Gastbuch with MA-23? 

(3) After I have guests - need to report once a month to the city authorities and pay the tax. Understood.
