What do you keep as extras/spares for your lising?

Hello all,

I'm looking at getting a spare area rug for the living room of my primary Airbnb. I keep spares of other items in case there is damage or breakage: I have a spare set of dishes that matches the set that's in the lising, and I keep extras of all glass styles on hand. I have a ton of extra towels and sheets, so never any issues there. This just came up because our last guest left a stain on the rug and we had to shampoo it, so it was tight getting it dry before our next guest.

I'm just wondering how many extras other hosts keep on hand, and of what.

Thanks,

Alexandra

@Alexandra316 Apart from linen not a lot of spare items. But I do have an extra kettle and toaster.  The shops are not that far away if I was really desperate. Makes note to get some more cutlery at the sales today 😉

@Ria16Cutlery is a good point. I don't have spares but should probably get a second set.

@Alexandra316, I remember one host discussing keeping spares, and it sounded like they planned to keep a spare microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker.

We just keep extra linens and (strangely enough) a spare Wifi router.

(Which, amusingly, we had to use one time.)

Wow! We don't have an extra router (that I know of.... my husband is a tech geek and we have a ton of random stuff lying around, so he may).

I don't bother with a spare microwave or toaster: I do have a spare coffee maker. I figure those things could be picked up at Canadian Tire in a pinch. I generally keep stuff that needs to "match".

Linen and bedding, towels, tablecloths, slippers, bathroom mats, shampoo, shower gel, mugs and glasses, plates, cutlery. A spare carpet even.
