I have been hosting for about a year now, and have had a great experience so far. Out of seven guests, only five have left reviews for me. I have gotten 5 stars across the board from everyone that has left a review. The ones that did not leave a review seemed genuinely pleased with the experience, just as the other guest had that left reviews. I don't think that they chose not to, I think it was just an oversight on their part. Maybe they weren't aware of the review portion of Airbnb, or maybe they were not in vacation mode and didn't choose to open Airbnb email thinking it was just advertisement. Whatever the case, how does this reflect on the host? With no complaints from the guests, do we automatically get 5 stars? Or, does it look bad that we didn't get a review and bring our overall average down?
I have attempted to sent an email as a request that they do the review, in order to record their experience of how my place was. One guest was glad that I contacted him, and he filled one out immediately. The other guest did not respond at all and never left a review. How does this affect me and my listing?

I does not really affect your listing. One thing I do is when the reservation comes in, I record the person's phone number and usually program it into the phone. After I review them, I usually send them a message with my review and ask them to please review me as well as it is often the deciding factor. The system also sends reminders. If it is getting to about 3 days before the time runs out, I will then send a text to the guest. This seem to work for me.
I like to think I have had 100% of the people review me. There were two people who tried to leave me a review but were either having issues with submitting it or the system was glitchy.

It doesnt affect your rating - don;'t worry about it - some guests just don't leave reviews.
My place was thrashed and the guest took a few hundred dollars in linens and bath accessories plus the front door key. They were angry about the close houses and things that I could not change. I know now to call Airbnb when I am dealing with a person like that next time. I think other hosts should know that these people will steal and turn a house upside down if they don't get their way. Will my rating of them ever be public if they don't rate me. I have turned the thieft into the resolution center and now I wait. D
If a guest was genuinely happy staying with you but hasn't left a review after 8 days .. can you get in touch via the chat line with them.
My guests checked out three days ago, and sent me a text message upon leaving saying they enjoyed their stay, and thanking me for the bottle of wine I left for them. However, when I looked through my reviews, they wrote that I have a nice place, but didn't rank me as a host, and didn't rank my place using the star system? All of my other guests gave me 5 stars.
I'm not sure if their review of me is concluded? How do I find out? Thanks.
