I helped hosts in Danville work on this issue. Letters were written to the town council and the Danville hosts went to the Town Council meetings. See more information about that situation here:
Danville votes to prohibit short term rentals
Unfortunately, that situation in Danville was heavily influenced by one instance of a neighborhood feud, where several neighbors had a beef with a woman who did short term rentals. They unfortunately used her vulnerability in that respect to bully her, and in the process, these individuals ended short term rentals for all hosts in Danville -- of whom there were not many, only 15-20.
