When can we accept a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, Ethereum, or lite coin as payment?

I would like to accept diffrent cryptocurrency's as payment, would anyone else like to have that option? Airbnb could credit my walet with the cryptocurrency, after subtracting the service fee just like normal.

I think instead of paying out in crypto, Airbnb could add their own decentralized exchange, so the choice is up to the Host how to cash out and up to the Guest how to pay for the booking. All users would have a wallet with their own keys. 

A smart contract could deduct the fees involved. Only PayPal would not like this, the remaining Cash in and Out from and to the banks stays the same.....for now.

I do not like playing Casino games - so if Airbnb will go to become the new  Rino - this game would not fit me - and I think many other hosts will consider not to be airbnb anymore.

It's not gambling Lilly. You will earn more without banking comissions or exchange fees and more. Hundreds of thousands of Airbnb hosts will be very happy if it happens. I'm sure this will an option instead of a must in the beginning by the way. You don't need to worry.

Please take the time to educate yourself about crypto. You will find that it's not a gamble at all. 🙂 There are no chargebacks. There are no payment processors going bankrupt. If you choose to hold bitcoin, then I agree, that's a bit of a gamble, but there are services that automatically convert your crypto to USD (brings back risks of them not paying), or you can convert them to stable tokens (reasonable in the short term so you know your cash flow).

There are many people who made these sort of comments about the internet as well. We are all wrong at some point about something. Right now the currency conversion costs of converting to fiat are still 1/3 of what accepting credit cards are.

Lilly, it's just a payment option. Nobody is obligated to use it, either guest or host, it just provides both the option of using or accepting crypto. 

You'd be able as a host or guest to continue without it, with no change whatsoever.

No, it is how to avoid banks and their transactions. 

It is true that taxes will be an obviously avoidance, but this should and can be fixed by the goverment and Airbnb paying for that or having a tax fee instead to go to the hands of a buggler banks.

Easy but too many interests and power that want to do very difficult.

Tax avoidance isn't illegal, tax evasion is. Many people want to avoid the taxes of the banks. Right now it costs you to keep money in the bank in the EU. Negative interest is crazy.

Crypto has the ability for instant and infinite transaction splitting. It's the government's problem to collect taxes. If they made a digitized version of their currency, they could incorporate automatic allocations of taxes to every agency instantly, and with perfect accounting that the public can audit. You could also make VAT about 1% instead of 20%. People evading taxes is why honest people have to pay so much VAT and other taxes. The rates are priced with the fraud rate known.

By the time this subject was post, stable coins didn't exist (DAI, TUSD, USDC, PAXOS, EURO-STASIS), I think it's time to reconsider it by Airbnb team!
