Why does our listing show some else as the "owner"?

When I preview our listing, in the section, "About the home", there are two statements there, "This is (owner name)'s place", and adjacent is "(host name) host".  The issue is, this home is owned and hosted only by my wife and I, however, everytime I preview the listing, the "This is (owner name)'s place" is filled in as some random person's name and image, not ours.  What's going on there, and how do we fix this?

You are the second host whose post like that I have seen today, @Mark657.

There seems to be a serious glitch (yet another) on Airbnb with that.

You must contact Airbnb Customer Service - use Twitter or the form: https://www.airbnb.com/help/contact_us#/ - nothing else will help...

Hi,

I see some mixture in profiles connected to your listings:

There is a "Mark" : https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/1425821

There is a  "Meredith & Mark": https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/2279269

Also they both are a cohost !

A listing says: Mark and Meredith & Mark help host.

I think you should review the way you have setup things here.

Best regards, Emiel

Thank you for your input - I do realize the co-hosting mashup is there, but that is also unrelated to the issue of a random "owner" on our account...

My wife setup the hosting account and put us both down in that profile, then she added me (with my prior existing account) as a co-host, so that's where that mess is from.  We can/will clean that up, but the real issue still exists separately.

Hi @Mark657 ,

It probably is a glitch as @Marzena4 allready mentioned. I only described what i saw and i wondered if things were setup properly. It looks now if you both are the cohosts of the (indeed randomly choosen) host ! Best regards,Emiel

Hi Mark,  I was just reviewing my listing and noticed the same thing....a total stranger was listed as the owner, and my husband and I were listed as co-hosts.  This just started happening.  The "owner's" name changes every time I look at it.  I called Airbnb, and they said..."hmm, I'll send it over to the right department".  Hopefully it will be cleared up asap. I don't like someone I don't know being listed as the owner.  Will this mess up bookings?  It's not the way I set it up either.  No help to you, but know that you're not alone in this.  Pam

I received this directly from Airbnb Support:

"Yes, you are correct. It happens on both of the rooms and we really sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that it caused. We may not have an exact timeframe on when will it get resolve but rest assured that these random people showing has nothing to do with your account at all. I also understand that it would appear to be confusing to users to see (A random user is indicated as a Listing admin ) but rest assured that our Product team with the help of our system engineers are already working to rectify the issue.

Your issue has already been reported as (Bug report #21280)."

Thank you all for you quick feedback and support!

Hello @Mark657

Thanks for sharing this Mark and for reporting this to the Team, I can imagine how confusing this must be to see. I will also flag it again on my side, so it is a combined effort and hopefully it will be showing as normal again soon.

Thanks @Robin4@Emiel1@Pam112@Marzena4 for all your help here. 🙂

Lizzie
