Why no new enquiries and bookings?

I have been a host since last 11 months. I have had lots of guests till last October, but all of a sudden, since November, I have had no enquiries or bookings. My calendar was blocked during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, but other than that it was open. I have refuced the price to attract guests, but still no luck. Is there something wrong? I am not able to figure out. Can anyone advise or help how to boost bookings? Don't have a job at the moment, so reslly need it.

Hi @Mani-and-KP0

It's a quieter time of year, and having your place booked out for a period (or not available) will affect where it shows up in listings too. Can I suggest that you do a few of the following too to try bump up your position in the listings. Take a few new photos, put in a few new descriptions, play around a bit with the copy describing your place. That may help.

Also, you have a few things that people have commented on negatively in your reviews. These are not major as overall you have great feedback, and I think your responses have been professional. However, they don;t alwasy show that you are acting on them. The last one for instance regarding the bed and pillows - you just say, 'we try describe our place accurately'. I would have said that but also what about saying we have or are replacing the pillows, or we haven;t had that feedback about the bed b4, but will certainly take a look. Also the comment about wifi - I would suggest you could have said, we will look a getting a booster (just a few dollars spend to do so).

Good luck

Thanks Gerry and Rashid,

Is there a way to edit or add to my responses to the negative reviews. I did in fact add a booster for wi-fi and new mattress cover and pillows which made the bed softer now. I edited my description to show it, but anyone reading just the top revews will not know it. So, is there a way to add to my responses?

Thanks,
Manie.

@Mani-and-KP0 I am getting stressed out due to this same issue. Since January, I've had steady bookings and excellent reviews. I have invested time and money upgrading my Airbnb apt. Thus far, I am booked solid through October and part of November.  If things don't pick up, I'll be obligated to rent out long term. That's reality!
