Would anyone else like to have a direct link to Calendar easily available from the home page?
In the phone app it is there in the main menu (top-left), so it is easy.
But in the PC version (online via airbnb.com), it takes several steps to get to the Calendar. (Unless I'm missing something -- please enlighten me, if so. 🙂 )
For me, at least, the Calendar page is the one I use most often -- checking on my rates/prices, availability, when someone asks to book, managing my schedule, scheduling cleaning, etc etc etc.
If there's enough interest expressed here, maybe AirBnB will respond and implement it? It should be a trivially easy "fix," just create a link in one of the top-level menus that goes directly to Calendar. Thanks!
Yes!! I, too, find it odd that Airbnb has made finding my calendar so complicated. The calendar is critical and is what I look at most often. I truly hope Donna Boyer, the new Director of Airbnb Product, takes this to heart and makes the calendar page a simple one click away!
(By the way, I LOVE the addition of the "Saved Messages". PERFECT!!)
@Dale0 and @Gayla0 I don't find it at all hard to reach my calendar. Log in, mouse over the "Host" icon, click on "Manage Listings", then click on "Calendar and more" for the listing I want to work with. (Part of the reason for that last extra step is that some hosts manage multiple listings.) So, considering that we all have to log in first in any case, that leaves reaching your listing a 2-step process (not "several steps"). How hard is that? Click. Click. 1.5 extra seconds maybe?
Since I posted they've removed one step, which is good. Still, so much of the AirBnB user-interface is so good, that I'm surprised this is still a little slow on the PC browser version. Not a big deal, but it would be so easy to remedy. The mobile phone app version is great -- why not do the same for the PC browser interface?
These are the steps to get to Calendar, now:
1. Hover over Host, a dropdown menu appears.
2. Choose Manage Listings. (Not a sub-menu, but you actually have to open a new webpage.)
3. Wait for webpage to load.
4. Scroll down to the place on the page next to the Listing you want (rather than using a menu at the top).
5. Hover over the small area marked "Calendar and More". Click on it.
6. Wait for *another webpage* to load. [There used to be one more step, now it has changed, a small improvement.]
Two full webpages deep in, six steps. Whereas on the mobile app version it is Menu->choose Calendar. Boom.
Completely agree! It's the one page I need most of the time. I can navigarte anywhere from here.
Suprised it doesnt have its on tab to be honest
All I can add is that on both the web and in the app, it's a 2-click process to reach any of your listings (some hosts may have several, thus the absence of a single-click process). I don't count moving the cursor an inch or two, or waiting a fraction of a second for each page to appear (the exact equivalent of waiting a fraction of a second for a different screen-view to appear in the phone app) as a "step". Again, it's exactly 2 clicks in either interface.
If things seem to move too slowly in the browser interface, it might be an issue of a slow internet connection or an old, slow PC.
I'm really not trying to be argumentative. And, because I'm such an incredibly nice person, here's a 1-click way to reach your calendar: Log in, go to your calendar using the 2-click method. Now bookmark that page and place the bookmark in your Bookmark Bar, not buried down in some list or folder. Now, any time that you're logged on, you're one happy click away from your calendar.
