change the cancellation policy after the booking has been accepted

Hi everyone, I recently finalised a booking and then the guest told me that if it was raining the weekend they were coming, they would have to cancel as they were on bikes. I am happy for them to cancel a few days beforehand. My cancellation policy is on STRICT but now I wan to downgrade it. Can I do this? I looked at altering the reservation but it doesnt allow me to change the cancellation policy. I dont want them to cancel and rebook (with a changed cancellation policy) as they will incur charges. Any suggestions?

Absolutely agree! It is a huge disservice to the host to allow a horrid guest to review you.

a d my experience with Airbnb is, they do not care about hosts! If there is a cancellation they keep their fees after 48 hours. 

My new policy is, if they leave my place a mess, I bill them through Airbnb they mostly ignore me then I wait til the very last hour and give them an honest review! 

Good luck getting anyone else to rent to you!
