no previous reviews from this guest?

I just listed my property and immediately got an enquiry from a guest who just joined with no previous reviews.  Based on the name, I think they live in Korea.

The message looks OK "coming to Australia for a holiday with the kids" but the guest has no profile or other information.  I don't even know where they live or anything.

Should I accept or decline?

Hello. I have experencend this a few times, and I usually ask the guest to update their profile, answering my questions/concerns.

I explain my curiosity by referring to the Airbnb community as a community of trust, where we rent each other's homes... The guests have always acknowledged my requests, and updated their profile.

...remember; you have 24 hours to accepat a booking. 🙂

I only take guests with

1. Clear photo of themselves

2. Verified ID - photo ID - you can tick the setting for this on your listing

3. Guests who tell me why they chose my place

4. Guests who tell me about plans for their stay

5. Guests who confirm a check in time with me within my check in time slot

I can then make a judgement call on whether there is a good fit.

@Tam2117 lots of new people use Airbnb. Start a conversation with them oner the messaging system to see if they will be a good fit

New hosts are often a target for scammers.  If it smells fishy, it may be.
