IDEAS FOR THE LAST OF THE YEAR..

Do you have some idea for the last of the year?

We have an annual parade here in Pasadena, CA. USA -- the Rose Parade -- and championship football game at the Rose Bowl, so year end is high season for us.  So I am always trying to think of something special to do for the guests... this will be my 2nd New Year's Eve of hosting.

Last year I put out carafes with brandy and rum and had egg nog available in the fridge for the guests ... but no one except me drank the egg nog! So I'm skipping it this year because I have teen-agers coming. (I rent 3 rooms in my home where I live, not a seperate unit).

I also did some festive decor and got some extra candies and cookies to put out for guests  -- I always have a welcome plate of cookies and I have candies too.

This year, I'm thinking of getting small bottles of champagne style sparkling wine for each set of guests, and puting these on ice in their rooms.
