Critique my listing - Natasha, in Malta

Hi all,

We have been renting out our spare room for a few months and I love the socialising with people all over the world. We love hosting and found an apartment right next to us and decided to give it a go ! However, despite our efforts, it seems there is very little interest in the new listings. We compared the prices to apartments close to us and we think that our price is competitive.

Do you perhaps have any feedback ? Below picture for attention. The listing is https://abnb.me/0mdeD2dhlqb

@Natasha503

Nice listing !

My remarks:

- Section "sleeping arrangements" is missing

- no check-in / check-out times are set

Please note you offer 20% discount to first 3 bookings

It sums up with your weekly (10%) and montly (15%) discounts.

Happy hosting !

Thank you!

@Natasha503   Maybe it's just me, but I find the random blurred frames on some of your listing photos to be unpleasantly distracting. The listing would look better overall if you cropped them down to normal exposures.

The home looks like a nice, clean and cozy apartment, and great value for the price. "Luxury" is probably not a good fit for the title, as it's a better fit for guests who appreciate simplicity than those who want to be pampered like at a resort hotel. Similarly, your other listing should not be called "5 Stars" unless that's its actual rating (Ron Howard voice: it's not). But this isn't going to factor into bookings much, since Airbnb no longer displays titles in search results.

The Blue Lagoon looks like an awesome attraction; since it's a big part of your listing, it helps to mention the time/distance from your home on foot. When I compare listings in your area that appear fully booked for the summer to ones with a lot of vacancies, I see a huge gap in the quality of the photos. A good reshoot might help inspire more interest.

Hi @Anonymous

Thank you so much for your feedback. It all makes sense and we have taken it on board. I opted for having an Airbnb approved photographer to take the pictures. Hopefully it will make a difference !

Thanks again,

I think @Anonymous is spot on with his comments re the blurry frames photos - I’d try and get some more flattering ones in great light and at better angles.

One thing I really look for when I’m booking somewhere sunny is a lovely balcony or terrace.  Yours is cute, I’d be tempted to throw a splash of colour in there....plant pots, cushions, greenery, fairy lights, etc so folks can imagine themselves there drinking their coffees or a cold one with a book.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We'll be adding some cushions etc to make the outdoor space more bright and cosy !

Thanks again,

Natasha
