My listing does not show up in search results

Hi all!  I am new to hosting and I finished my listing yesterday (about 24 hours ago).  I can see my listing when I'm signed in as myself but I cannot when I go incognito or without being signed in.  My spouse cannot find the listing either - even when she zooms in on the very specific area.

I activated instant booking.  All help is appreciated!!!!!

Greetings Chibu,

What is a 'reclamation specialist..?' 🙂 I had no time to look it up! I'm not sure that is the best intro line to introduce yourself to an audience of space hunters on Airbnb. I would definitely personalize it a bit more... maybe add a few more sentences about yourself as a host, and your relationship to the space.

Otherwise, your listing appears fine. The photos are clean and minimal, if that is the type one might be searching for on the platform. Welcome to the community. I remember a time when I could not locate my own listing as well. Since you have only been up for 24 hours (and added very little about your relationship to the space) this could be the reason (or not) that the algorithm is moving slow to display your listing.

Did you read up on that? Airbnb has an algorithm designed to detect suspicious listings, for obvious reasons, and launching an entire space with no history or info about the main space might be a red flag. If I were you I'd add more info about the listing. Is is below your own home... or.. something else?

This doesn't mean that eventually your new listing won't move through the algorithm as is.... I just think it may be lacking information about the property and your relationship to it.

I am in the USA and I was able to click in and see your listing as LIVE and ready to go... but as far as searching for it, that's another issue. Also, inform yourself on any legislative rules that may be activated in your county or jurisdiction for renting "entire units." A new "entire home listing" instead of "a bedroom within a host's home" could be an alarm for a first time host, seriously.

Or it could be that the algorithm needs a few days to help your listing gain traction. Here in NYC special attention is given to listings that aim to rent the entire space - due to mass short-term rental corruption and the breaking of housing rules and occupancy laws. Legislators have really cracked down on these kind of listings, unless you own it or live in it - they are closely monitoring listings that go up as "entire home for rent."

Usually, the platform algorithm does give temporary special preference to new listings by boosting them to the front to help them get started 🙂 so eventually you will receive a hit. Best to you on your hosting journey.

(**also I noticed you do have 2 reviews as a guest so the system should be recognizing you as a real person, which is a good thing)

ps: you could give Airbnb a call to ensure your listing is accepted and moving, or find out if you need to do anything else on your part.

I hope this helps.
