A split stay offer to a long-term guest within the same house.

A split stay offer to a long-term guest within the same house.

I have multiple rooms in my house for long-term rental only.   When none of my room alone is available for the entire length of stay, is it possible to offer a split stay to the  long-term guest?

@Gangqin0 only Airbnb can create a split stay but the system might do so if your prospective guest zooms the map in to your location.

I have a similar set up, i.e. I host long term stays and have three guest rooms in my house. I've always just told them to make two separate bookings and then adjusted the price to include the monthly discount if necessary.

However, do you mean having your split stay offer available in the search results? This could certainly be useful for hosts like us. I think though that only the Airbnb algorithm decides when to display split stays in a search and your minimum would probably prevent it from identifying your rooms as options.

For example, if a guest is looking to book for one month, and your minimum stay is one month, it's not going to show the option of booking one room for three weeks and the another for one week. The minimum stay on your settings would prevent this from happening. e

It would be great though if Airbnb could give us the option to include this in our settings though.

Thanks for the replies.  Well, I don't need the split stay offer to be available in the search results but only to be able to send out one as a special offer when guests send inquiries.  I can't have them book separately since my city doesn't allow me to have any booking less than 30 nights.. 😞

@Gangqin0 Ah, well that is tricky then. I am not sure how you can get around that. I don't know of any way you can split the stay between two rooms under one booking. I just use a rule set to open up those particular dates for a shorter stay, but if the system doesn't let you do that, I am not sure what to suggest.

@Huma0 @Gangqin0 the issue with Huma's solution is that the guest doesn't benefit from the lower service charge from a long stay (about 4% reduction???).

@Gangqin0 the other thing you could do is use a change request to see if a current booking is willing to change rooms. Not ideal but with the right financial incentive they may be willing to do so.

I didn't even know there was a reduction in service fees for long term guests. I've never heard of that before. My guests pay a fortune in service fees, so I guess the 4% off wasn't enough for me to notice.
