AIR BNB IS BETRAYING HIS MISSION AND HIS HOSTS BY ALLOWING TRAVEL AGENTS AND OPERATORS TO TAKE OVER HUNDREDS OF LISTING IN THE SAME AREA

I have been a super host on Airbnb for over 6 years now. I currently have my home in Italy listed  but this year I noticed a drop in bookings that I could not explain. I then had a look at the map and noticed that about halve of the listings in my city are controlled by an external operator that is not even located in the region.

The listings controlled by this company are kept at a very low price (being a company vs actual hosts this is easily done) so thy are basically controlling the market though the platform at the expenses of real hosts.

Is this what Airbnb has become?

This is a betrayal of the airbnb original mission as there is no host here but basically other companies tacking advantage of the platform.

As a dedicated super host, I had put money, time and passion in welcoming travellers in my home, now I regret trusting this company.

I have invested money in refurbishing my home to make it a profitable listing but now I will have to decide if it's time to leave this platform or not as now this  is not what I had signed up for when I joined it.

@Pafo0 sadly Airbnb did the same in the UK. They have all of Cottages.com listings on their site and list these as having Professional hosts even though 99% of them are in fact private hosts who list on Cottages.com.

I was amazed that Airbnb would do this but it seems they don't really care as long as the money flows to them.

Hello Mike and Jane,

Thanks so much for your reply.

I think this is absolutely crazy, besides making the whole idea of Airbnb a total fake Airbnb is also making less money as these companies keep the pieces so low that they spoil the market. So this is not only morally aberrant but it's plain idiotic also money wise!

We should stand up ton this.

I am calling the newspapers as airbnb is basically a scam
