I'm new at this business, I started being a host 4 days ago. I got a reservation, 3 guests are coming. The one who made the booking seems lovely but has only 1 recommendation and joined Airbnb 5 years ago. I'm open-minded, but maybe it would be safer to do some extra checking. Is it usual to ask for their Airbnb profile link (or maybe their ID?) in order to make sure that they are nice people? Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hi @Zsófia8 😊
I just wanted to add to what @Helen3 mentioned by providing the link to this article on Responsible hosting in Hungary that does indeed state:
As of September 1, 2021, all accommodation providers in Hungary are required to collect information on guest identities upon the arrival of each guest and share that information with the Hungarian Tourism Agency.
@Zsófia8 even if you ask for their ID what would you actually do with it? You should be able to see their profile link astray have booked with you.
Unless you have specific concerns I would not worry about all the horror stories that you hear. The vast majority of guests are sure to host and its only the very few bad ones that get discussed on line
Thanks! You are totally right! I really appreciate it, helps me a lot not to overthink these things. 😉
I believe in Hungary hosts need to collect photo ID from your guests an accommodation provider . @Zsófia8

Yes, thank you Breanna, I'm aware of that and already doing it with our first guests. Everything is so much clearer now. 🙂
