Account trouble

Hi! I have been trying to start an air bnb account however the person that had my phone number before me never updated their account which is prohibiting me from opening my own. What do I do and who do I contact? I've trying calling the customer service line and always get hung up on.

Yes....that is an issue if you inherited a number that was in use by someone else on their Airbnb profile and they have not removed it from their profile, only Airbnb can really resolve it. 

You could ask your phone carrier to assign you a different cell phone number, but it may not always be a guaranteed option. While carriers provide a list of available numbers when you sign up, you can request a different number, and they may accommodate your request if the desired number is available.
