So my guest checked into a room in my home 30/06/23, damaged my brand new kitchen, was aggressive and abusive. Which then resulted in police attending my property to escort him off my property. He then sat outside my house watching the property which intimidated me this was for nearly 2 hours before police have to attend again.
when the police were present this guest used the bathroom alone and out of spite pissed all over the place walls, floor, toilet, sink literally everywhere. On top of that He has stained and damaged my kitchen cupboards, dented my fridge.
air BnB emergency line never contacted me back throughout the 24 hours to assist me as they kept promising, after everything that has happened that are refund this guest the full amount! I have already reported it to trading standards and watchdog which are investigating it! I also have opened a case for damaged but after Airbnbs behaviour not hopeful! There is nearly £2000 worth of damages!
he was also rude and aggressive to the police nearly got arrested for that! Not a nice man very nasty!
can anyone advise how I can recover anything!
this is his account so I would advise stay clear unless you want to be abused and your property damaged and police assistance.

You should be covered under AIRCOVER for hosts
You should be covered under AIRCOVER for hosts
Is that cover include United Kingdom hosts. And what happens if the guest refuses to pay?
@Cheyenne62 yes it does include UK hosts BUT it will only pay a depreciated amount so if the kitchen is old you won't get much money AND it is not a proper insurance policy so there is no recourse if Airbnb chooses not to pay. You may be better claiming on your own insurance policy provided you have one suitable for short term rental.
The kitchen is brand new so is the house
