Hi,
So, to make it clear to anyone providing a house with some extra entertainment or facilities, just know that we got a group of guests that destroyed the green carpet from our English Snooker (12 foots) and AirCover is not covering this damage.
Saying it's "due to normal use" of the house,... 5 years + and no other group before have destroyed it... weird, isn't it?
Just rent a poor place with IKEA furniture... ffs
@Nicolas2597 You need proper insurance.Airbnb only pays a depreciated value so anything over about 5 years old is deemed worthless. Concerning if you have centuries old antiques as we did.
Hello @Nicolas2597
A host on the French CC has just posted saying that they've received a message from CS saying that bed linen, duvets/comforters and pillows are no longer covered by Air Cover😡
Airbnb have updated their terms and conditions regarding Air Cover in February of this year but I seem to remember reading that carpets and curtains weren't included in the linens category. So now it would seem that it's also a question of how old a carpet is to be deemed worthy of any it reimbursement for its replacement!
I totally agree with your last statement Nicolas, I've invested in quality appliances, bed and bath linens and mattresses etc but what's the point if we're not protected from guests ruining our things??
We can't even take deposits any more either (unless you go through a Channel Manager) so other than our household insurance which won't work in most cases, we have to take it on the chin and absorb the costs.
after another email exchange, we got cover ! woohoo
