I’m typing because I’m in a desperate situation where Airbnb support isn’t responding and keep closing my issues that I open.
I booked an apartment from someone who now I think is a fake, since they never responded, and their phone didn’t work, and I ended up having to desperately book another place on the day itself at approx $150 per night extra for 3 nights. While the host only got penalised $100.
While Airbnb refunded me the old apartment, they wouldn’t help in all the other payments that I had to incur, and then closed the case even though I told them the issue is not resolved.
I'm trying to get any rights here for all this money, time, and international calls I wasted, and Airbnb is just not responding to any request.
Is this a common thing in Airbnb? Does the guest have no rights? Because I feel that this encourages fraudsters and punishes loyal Airbnb guests.
Any help would be great, or if someone knows how to escalate such matters, Simon E Airbnb Support is completely unhelpful.
