Airbnb Violates its own Content Policy

A guest wrote outright lies about my home. Stupid stuff that with a video or photo I could disprove. I was totally dismissed and my business is damaged from this defamation. I’ve contacted a lawyer and would like to ask if anyone else what’s to pool together efforts? Allowing proven lies to exist on someone’s business is defamation.

@Rem2381 I agree with you wholeheartedly and I've considered a defamation suit as well but in the end, it is David/Davida versus mega-goliath and in the end, your frustration will burn you out.

I think the review process is entirely broken and lies from guests are called opinions and cannot be removed to 'protect the community'.  Airbnb must allow guests to do and behave as they wish because that is the chief form of income, we are the secondary source only.  The shareholders must be fed and this is the basic gist of it.

I fight for about 7-10 days when these come up and then eventually lose steam and wallow in feelings of frustration, defeat and regret but at the end of the day, those lies are not just distractions and in the end are usually petty things by petty people.  Try to get past them, I'll try to take my own advice because I know where you're coming from 100%.

Good luck and Happy New Year!
