Airbnb You could be charged for multiple reservations (3 months before)

Hi everyone.

I have a doubt regarding multiple reservations. 

I have booked one place and I have 2 months of free cancelation. The problem is that despite it is a room for 6 people, the host sent me a message that she accepted by mistake because 2 beds of that room have been already booked (although, i think it is not by airbnb since the app allowed me to book for 6 people).

Now, i am trying to find a different place but without cancelling the first option (meanwhile the host try to resolve.. She wants me to cancel the whole book but I think she wants to increase the price).

What happen if I try to book a second place (also with 2 months of cancellation) without cancelling the first one? 

Am i going to have a penalty  ? Or is it possible to have 2 confirmed reservations and cancelling one of them within the free cancellation window?

Note: I am clear how the cancellation window works but not sure regarding having more than 2 confirmed reservation for the same days.

Do not cancel the booking this is the hosts problem and they should cancel as they have made the error .  @Diego2315 

You can't have two live bookings for the same time period so would need to find somewhere first , tell the host they need to cancel as they have confirmed they can't accommodate the numbers booked and then book the alternative accommodation.

Thanks @Helen3 i am asking her to cancel but it is taking time since it seems she can be charged. Do you know what happen if I have two live bookings? (I dont want to lose any other option since it is for Brasil carnavals and we have few options.. several has been rejected because they asked for minimum 10 days and we are booking 5 days). 

I am thinking that if i find any other option (confirmed) I can cancel the one of this subject since it has free cancellation. (Its not for helping the host regarding the error. Its more for continuing looking and hoping any other reservation be confirmed.). Thanks a lot

You need to contact Airbnb straight away point them to her messages on the platform confirming she has double booked the rooms. @Diego2315 

yes the host will be charged a cancellation fee as Airbnb takes hosts who do this very seriously 

As I have already mentioned I don't believe you can have two live bookings at the same time .
