Airbnb rebooked an apartment without my consent then confessed. NO REFUND

I am 71 and living on SS. Airbnb rebooked an apartment I was in without my consent ..  Then admitted they did it. Now they refuse to refund my money. 

 

This is what they said:

Any help ?  Any body every had them admit to stealing money and not returning.

@Gary1274 I am not sure I understand but a change was made by Airbnb by mistake that would give you more money. Now they just want to reverse the mistake and put you back in the original position. Assuming this change only happened recently and you were quickly informed I am not sure what the issue is.

Issue is they did not try and refund my money. I sent them so many requests and they would not resopond.. 

This is interesting, even after they admitted to charging my card without my consent I finally contacted Pay-pal and told them the story. They sided with Airbnb. hahahaha.

After that, I had no option to file a chargeback. And that was not until yesterday.

My thoughts are they know my bank will not even look into the facts and side with Airbnb!  

At this point I am buying books on the legal issues of a company charging a credit card without the customers consent and not refunding the money.

Also , thankfully I made screen shots and dates of the messages with Airbnb. So hopefully if they do not refund my money I will send them to every news agency in the world and hopefully then will print it so people will know to stay away from Airbnb..

But, at this point it is up to the chargeback to see what happens. Hopefully it will be resolved. But, so far all I have see are empty promises.  

I am going to send them a message today asking them to contact pay-pal and tell them it was there mistake in the hopes it will reverse the decision pay-pal made..

I have tried to go to the help center. I cannot sign in now. Airbnb will not send me a code now to open..

Before I never had a problem. They sent a code immediately. Now they have stopped. I also requested a phone call and it is not working either.  What do you suggest now?

What happened is the host called into Airbnb as I understand it and Airbnb charged my debit card 1002 dollars for the apartment. The original fee was 577.   I caught it immediately. And contacted Airbnb .. They admitted to the mistake and refused to refund my money. 

I have copies of the mail. They wanted the host to refund the money?  I tried to contact them for days and no answer.  I finally was afraid they would charge my card again. So I put a hold on it.. As soon as they found out I put a hold on it they sent a message saying they tried to refund my 1002 dollars. Of course it did not go threw.   It is one ridiculous scam from them after another. Also the resolve dept. is out of the country. I can barely understand the guys I talk to.

 

Now it looks like they have blocked any attempt to escalate the matter.

I am 71, I traveled to Colombia to get denture work done. Now they steal my money so I cannot finish my dental work. I am living on SS and they have taken my money. Now I have to decide whether to get my dental work finished and live not he streets or fly back home with dental work half finished..

I have asked for a check to be sent to me, Given them my address. No response.. Anything I suggest a solution that will solve the problem they ignore it.

Airbnb made a mistake and charged my credit card 1002 dollars and now refuse to refund my money.

One of their reps charged me 1002 dollars by mistake. They say they made the mistake and I have it in writing. But, they refuse to refund. The is criminal IMHO. What should I do..

I have all the documentation, they say they made the mistake and now are trying everything they can not to refund my money.

@Gary1274 Why have you not taken this up with your bank? It is now sometime since your original post on the subject so the bank could have dealt with it by now. I wonder if there is more to this story than we are hearing.....

I have, I created a charge back. Airbnb is doing everything possible to not pay the money back. Now Pay-Pal has suspended my account saying someone is trying to get into my account. I assume it is Airbnb. 

I am having problems now because I went through Pay-Pal to pay. PayPal is saying now it is not going to help because it wants to talk to my bank or something. 

Airbnb are thieves, when I get back I am going to start a YouTube video and publish every text and response they went to me.  You will not believe it.

Not only that but I had to cancel my card with Pay-Pal, I canceled it with my bank because I was afraid Airbnb would keep pulling money out of my account. I don't have the funds.  

I would publish the text messages here but they delete them as soon as I put them up.. Just a bunch of crooks and thieves IMO. I may never get all my money back but I will make sure I publish and keep publishing all my data.  Now they will not answer my questions and ignore all my requests. They know they stole my money and have stopped all communication.
