Airbnb verifies identity on bots and fake profiles

Over the last couple of weeks there has been a flood of stories of enquieries from profiles with verified identity that are bots or fake. I've had one myself. Others report of several each day.

How is it possible that Airbnb verify the identity of a profile of a machine? Do you verify the serial number? Date of production? An IP address as registered home address?

How can we trust the verification tag on a profile when machines get it?

Also: WE as hosts gets punished for not replying. So by verifying a machine Airbnb puts us hosts in trouble with eeehh yes, Airbnb.

Please fix this issue. We have enough monitoring as it is.

(Don't move this to host circle. It is indeed help with my business)

Agree. I had the same bot try to book three times after I flagged it each time. And then after, I get a message from Air b n b saying “ we noticed you recently communicated with somebody who is not following the Airbnb regulations and has been removed from the platform. And then gave me a bunch of warning signs about blah blah blah.” Like, hello? I just reported it. TO YOU, THREE TIMES.
