Airbnb will not remove false review

As a guest who recently stayed at an Airbnb that did not meet expectations I wrote an honest review about the lack of cleanliness.
The host left a retaliatory and false review about me.

she claims she offered to bring a towel right away which is a lie. I have screen shots of her saying she could only bring one the next day. Which I declined as my question about the towel was just that… a question if there was additional. I never made a complaint about this. My complaint was that the light fixtures only had 1 light bulb in the basement. Making it dark. Everything was dusty, food on the backsplash and stove. And most importantly there was hair in a wet shower from the previous guest.
I communicated in a timely manner. The host asked me to do her a favour even by resetting her internet. And all responses were sent quickly.

i have been a user for 7 years with 19 5 star reviews. Compared to her 6 months as a host.

Even with photo evidence Airbnb states that the lies she left are not a violation.

Her review: I offered this guest an early check-in as a courtesy, and the stay was only for two nights. From the beginning, she expressed dissatisfaction over minor details — including only having one tea towel (even though paper towel was also provided). I offered to drop off an additional one right away, but the complaints escalated from there.

She raised issues that were either exaggerated or unreasonable, such as the lighting in a room and alleged dust - despite my consistent 5-star reviews on cleanliness and hospitality. I take great pride in maintaining a spotless and welcoming space and have always been responsive to guest needs.

This guest seemed to be looking for problems and was difficult to communicate with. While I understand everyone has different expectations, this experience was extremely challenging. I would not host her again and encourage other hosts to proceed with caution.

My Airbnb Support message is as follows.

I am writing to formally request the removal of a review left by a (host named) as it violates Airbnb’s Content Policy in multiple ways, including the inclusion of inflammatory, false information and Fraudulent.

In the review, the host made several personal and subjective attacks on my character, including statements such as I was "looking for problems" and "difficult to communicate with," which go beyond a factual recount of the stay and fall under disparagement and personal criticism, contrary to Airbnb's review guidelines.

Additionally, the host claimed, "I offered to drop off an additional [towel] right away," which is factually incorrect and fraudulent. No such offer was made within any reasonable timeframe, and the issue was never addressed during my stay. She offered to drop off a towel the next day.
This false claim misrepresents the situation and unfairly damages my reputation as a guest.

This review does not reflect a fair, honest, or respectful experience and directly conflicts with Airbnb’s policies regarding:
* False or misleading content
* Personal attacks
* Harmful or retaliatory statements

I requested that Airbnb investigate this matter and remove the review, as it clearly breaches the stated content standards.

@Caylene0 Airbnb doesn't arbitrate the truth in reviews so its not worth wasting your time fighting this one. Also as reviews are blind the host's review cannot be in retaliation of your review.

I posted my review on her listing so she would have seen it I believe. Her review of me came 14 days later. It’s so disappointing that Airbnb is contradictory to its own policies

If you read how Airbnb reviews policy both reviews are posted at the same time so the host couldn't possibly have seen what you wrote @Caylene0

the whole point of their review system is reviews are left blind.

Thanks for the info, blind or not. This review is a lie and it bothers me that Airbnb doesn’t care
