Allowing "pets" Can we be more specific?

I have been on Airbnb for almost 10 years.  I appreciate that they now specify on the reservation if someone is bringing a "pet", however I think they need to provide information on what sort of pet is coming!  I allow dogs, but not cats because of the allergy issues a lot of people have.  I have no way of knowing what sort of pet people are bringing.  it could be a boa constrictor for all I know!  Pet is a very broad term, it needs to be more specific.  I have emailed support numerous times but have gotten no resolution on this.  Anyone have any ideas on how we can get them to make the reservation request more specific?

Agree with you. Right now you can only indicate whether pets are allowed and how many.

The only way to handle this at present is to add your restrictions regarding pets to your Addl House Rules and notify guests after booking (if using instant book) that "please note you only allow dogs, no other type of animal..."

If using Request to Book, you can advise guests of your pet restrictions after they send their request to book.

Yes I do that.  But it would be so much easier if the information was in the booking to start with.  Seems like it wouldn't be that big of a deal to have a "what type of pet" question on the booking form.
