Airbnbโ€™s video message feature feels like one of those tools that could really help make guest communication feel more personal, especially for welcome messages, check-in information or sharing local recommendations.

 

So I wondered; are you actively using video messages as part of your hosting routine?

 

If youโ€™ve tried it, has it helped improve the guest experience or made communication easier for you as a host?

 

Would be great to hear how Airbnb hosts are using the feature in practice ๐Ÿ‘‡

@Guy991 great point about language! That's actually what pushed me to look for a text-based solution instead โ€” something guests can read in their own language without needing to understand a video. Has anyone tried multilingual welcome guides?

Yo he utilizado video mensajes en algunas ocasiones, principalmente para guiar a los huรฉspedes en su llegada. Funciona muy bien, les da claridad y certeza porque ya no tiene que interpretar o imaginar nada, ven el escenario y al llegar se sienten familiarizados. Es una gran herramienta.

I've used video messages on a few occasions, mainly to guide guests upon arrival. It works very well, providing clarity and reassurance because they no longer have to interpret or imagine anything; they see the scene and feel comfortable upon arrival. It's a great tool.

Currently they have been a visual guide but I am very very excited to produce videos with voiceover.

Please let us know how you get on @Hugo1160 - do you think you'll speak Spanish or English, or maybe both depending on your guests?

I can actually see this being really useful for check-in instructions or appliance walkthroughs, especially for guests arriving late at night. Sometimes a short visual explanation removes way more confusion than long text messages ever do.

At the same time, the point about language and expectations is valid too. Iโ€™d probably keep videos simple, short, and mostly visual so guests can follow along easily without relying too much on spoken language.
