Auto booking complaint

I thought I was being pretty clear, but I’ll restate it because some years with some eyes don’t see what is actually posted.

from the time I listed my apartment with Airbnb I got in touch with representatives in the beginning because I was noticing that something was happening that I hadn’t planned on and that was automatic confirmations on bookings so with that being said, I contacted customer service.

after contacting customer service, they told me they knew what it was what it would be, and they immediately worked with me through the settings to turn automatic booking off, and then it was another problem that they had automatic booked a confirmation right over 2 1/2 weeks of blocked out dates that I had blocked out several days before that to show that there would be no bookings on those dates and they just couldn’t explain why that happened.

now it was a week later and I noticed another duplicate booking and I called up because I noticed I got an email notification as how it’s set up and it not only showed up as a request for a booking. It confirmed the booking once again, so that to me had to be a considered effort for someone to go into my my personal information and change that setting that doesn’t just happen like that and it makes me believe that being a new person, somebody is assigned to screw us, said that we would have tons of automatic confirmations, and if I didn’t abide by them, I would pay fines or I would have to pay to cancellation fees so now I’m finding flaws with relationships with Airbnb.

just yesterday I noticed I was getting auto confirmations from VRBO and I had to take up the same type of issues with them because there was nothing set up in the systems to mirror each other and adjust the dates that are open and the dates that are unavailable, but once again, Airbnb as big as it is, and I’m sure somebody these things come from being a big business, but it was just not noticing that there were dates that could not be assigned because we had already temporary rentals in our community.

Wow with views like that I am not sure Airbnb is the right platform for you @Thomas4282 .

Bigoted comments like ' the God forsaken country of India'  'because Indians hates America'

'I get obnoxious Indians who don't follow American law'

'the people of India who just don't respect the United States law'

are simply not acceptable.

when you set up your listing YOU would have chosen whether to use the Instant Book option.

YOU could easily have gone into your listing and turned it off if you made a mistake.

This is why you were getting automatic confirmation of bookings.

its your job as the business owner to familiarise with how the STR marketing platform you use work .

I agree with Helen3 and I would also like to add you can link your Airbnb Calendar and VRBO calendar. I had mine linked for a period of time and it works! However, I noticed that it was glitching when it was time to cancel a reservation. The dates on all Calendars remained blocked. And I was unable to immediately open them.

Yes @Lisa9820 I agree linking the calendars is crucial here, and also suggested it in a reply to the previous post (and turning off Instant Book as @Helen3 says).

Re: Automatic confirmation - Airbnb Community

In theory there shouldn't be a problem with the calendar linking when bookings are cancelled @Lisa9820 . If you were the one who cancelled (as a host), then the dates do remain blocked by Airbnb and you can't unblock them (it's designed that way to prevent host from cancelling). Maybe that was what happened when it seemed to be a glitch?
