Baby Gear Safety

Hello!   Wondering if anyone has experiences with baby safety gear, specifically, high chairs.  An upcoming guest has asked if we can provide a high chair & I am open to buying one for the apartment, but wondering what the risks are to us as hosts.  Are high chairs considered safety equipment, and subject to standards? If we supply an older or used high chair, which is clean and in working order but is older than 24 months, are we liable if a child is injured?  Thanks for your thoughts!  Ellen

I wouldn't provide a second hand anything when it comes to safety equipment for children. If you want to get one, get one from a reputable maker. You can buy ones that attach to your dining table.

If you are marketing your listing as family friendly it is a good investment to get highchairs, cots etc.

If not you could find her details of a local hire place for baby equipment the family can use.

@Ellen240 many localities have rental agencies that provide baby furniture for exactly this purpose. They usually pick up and deliver. In your shoes I would direct the guests to such an agency if available.
