Bad Host

Bad Host

Manuri *  is a terrible host. She double booked us at

* 4th floor unit on 7/6/2025 eventhough we had confirmation. Unbeknownst to us, she had a same day checkout check in. And while we were out for the day, she had the new guests come in and moved all of our belongings into the hallway outside the unit. We had our clothes, ipads, laptops, passports, wallets thrown into the hallway of the building.  She absolutely did nothing to resolve her error and not did apologize. She didn't reimburse us for the hotel we now had to book for 1 day. She is an awful person. 0 moral compass. She is subhuman. I hope she gets a dose of karma she is now due. I would say avoid this host. She was not even present to resolve the issue.

@Doug1365 . Hi Doug, I'm really sorry to hear your story. I hope you reported this directly to Airbnb Customer Service and made a claim as here its just an online Community Centre.

I note she is a new host but if the bad reviews continue Airbnb will take action.

So sorry to hear this. I know the area well. My property is in London and would love to help you even if it's just to show you that there are some good hosts nearby - please reach out if you'd like a cup of tea . My property is London, on the Northern Line close to Vauxhall 🙏🏼

In fact, nothing shocks me - had a very bad experience in Lochahachee in Florida a few years ago (I was not an Airbnb host then, as I'm only hosting for 2 months now)

Thx. Very kind of you. We may return to London possibly next yr. Take care.

Hi @Doug1365

You say the host had a same-day check-in. So is the situation that you left luggage in the listing past your check-out time?

Many properties do same-day guest changes - the departing guest is entitled to use the listing until check-out time, whereafter there no longer is an active reservation for that guest.

The agreement was a confirmed stay with a July 6 checkout. The new guests were checked in on July 5 contrary to our reservation.  So the host Manuri Yasara put all of our belongings in the hallway outside of the unit. She double booked guests on July 5. Had she notified us 2 weeks prior to our visit (that's when the new guests booked the unit), we could have coordinated. But she told us about the overbooking July 5 while we were out of town. She lacks humanity.
