Bad experience with a booking (First time)

Hello,

We booked a "private" resort beachfront for some RnR. However, when we arrived there, there was a wake right beside us that has been ongoing for days. There was a continuous influx of people right beside our unit. Also, the pathway to our rest room (shared) directly passes by the mourners. and the swimming area is visible to the mourners, so they'll watch you while you swim in the beach.

What made us really angry is there was no heads up or notice from the host about this. Apparently, we booked a week before and the wake started a few days after this. The host had a few days to notify us on this event.

We opted out to leave as the setup will not work. However, the host doesn't want to give us a refund (he said it was out of their control and they were being "friendly" to the locals )and airbnb support isn't really helping. Any others experienced this same scenario? This was a real bad experience after driving 3hours to the location.

I'm sorry that your experience wasn't great and you did the right thing to contact the Host in the first instance. Have you been through the Resolution Center with Airbnb Support?
