Bad experience

I recently had guests who burned my countertop with a frying pan and a new one must be special ordered and with labour cost me 4670sek.Unfortunately my home insurance does not cover such damages.The renters said that they would pay for the damage but after I gave them the quote they refused to believe the cost of the repair and have not since responded to my sms. Has anyone else had a similar situation that they have not been able to resolve with the renters or Airbnb?

Hej now the renters answer to my sms: we can pay 1000 sek and we contacted Airbnb cause we feel you are unkind and Airbnb told me to block you.

I really like this idea with Airbnb but now I feel like a idiot..
