I stayed at this property * and unfortunately had a very bad experience. The unit was infested with bed bugs, which caused physical bites, stress, and major disruption to our stay.
I immediately reported the problem to Airbnb and to the hosts. Despite providing proof and explaining the health risks of being forced to stay in a space with bed bugs, I had a very difficult time getting a refund. The hosts were not cooperative, and Airbnb’s process was frustratingly slow and unhelpful. Instead of prioritizing guest safety and well-being, I felt that the company and hosts tried to avoid responsibility.
This experience was not only about money — it was about the health risk of staying in an environment with a known infestation, plus the emotional toll of dealing with it. The lack of accountability and transparency from both the hosts and Airbnb left me feeling unsupported.
I want to share this so other community members are aware of what happened. I strongly believe Airbnb should enforce stricter standards when it comes to infestations and health issues, and hosts should not be allowed to continue renting properties until these problems are fully resolved.
