Bedbugs FOUND while in property, vacated and not receiving refund/help from owner

Hey there!  I had a 2 night stay in Charlotte, NC last weekend...was "reluctant" about this initially because the host of this one felt SUPER business-y...not refundable, required a $500 deposit (I didn't see that before booking, felt sneaky but I was 'stuck')...alas, they had great communication so felt initially supported.  I checked in at close to 4pm on Friday the 7th, settled our stuff in one of the three bedrooms and went to a sporting event.  We got back around 11pm and went to sleep in that bedroom we chose.  It wasn't super comfortable and I wasn't sleeping well so I decided at about 6:40am to go to one of the other bedrooms so I would stop tossing and turning and bothering my wife and try to get some rest.  I was able to nap a bit for about an hour.  At 7:40ish, I woke up and got out of bed...my wife was stirring and asked if that bed was more comfortable and I said yes...we had a nice full day off ahead of us so she said she was going to swap to come to THIS bed and rest with me...as she was about to get into the bed, she saw what she thought was lint on the pillow and went to pick it off...it wasn't lint and was something that "popped" in her fingers and left blood on her fingers.  We had NO idea what it could have been in that moment and I told her "GROSS...go wash your hands!!"  I got out of the bed and looked to see what it might have been and saw nothing...I said to her, "good lord I hope it wasn't a bug or something!"  Needless to say, we were awake at that point...I didn't see anything that concerned me any further so I went to make coffee...about 8am, I was sitting in the living room about to get coffee and saw a bug crawling on my sleeve...IT WAS A BEDBUG!! I snapped a pic of it out on their balcony and killed it and texted the host at 8:07am to tell them.  We immediately packed up all our things and left.  We were only about 2.5 hours away from home so for ease of resources (laundry, showers, etc.) we decided to just drive all the way home and obviously get away from these bugs...initially the hosts were supportive seeming...asked for pics, apologized, etc.  Since then though, they have been NOT AT ALL helpful and finally just yesterday sent a message saying they had no evidence of bedbugs.  I'm pretty irritated here...literally and financially...I have bed bug bites now (took photos as soon as they surfaced) and no communication about a refund.  I see I can file for a refund but only partial...I would like a FULL refund and think that's absolutely deserved given I had to cancel my vacation, drive two ways (to come back Sunday for a ticketed event) and do a crap ton of laundry I wasn't expecting and deal with these bites.  Help? What do I do to get a full refund?
