Can I make the booking of one listing automatically trigger the blocking of the other listing on those dates?

Hi there, first post.

I have a house where half of it (Section A) has been rented out to guests of 4 people for the last few years. Section B needed some serious renovations and now that they are complete, it can sleep an additional 6 people. Due to code restrictions, I won't be renting out A and B independently, instead, there is a lockable sliding door that separates the two sections.

I want to create a new listing allowing section A and B to be rented as one whole house, however this means that section A (original listing) needs to automatically block to avoid a double booking since both listings have a common area (Section A). This also needs to work the other way around.

I plan to open the second listing (Sections A and B combined) months in advance to maximise profit and only open the original listing (Section A only) two weeks in advance.

Airbnb said this isn't possible and recommend I set my second listing as 'instant book' and keep the original, smaller listing as 'request to book'. Is there any way around this? I like the idea of allowing guests to be able to instantly book both listings so long as it triggers the calendar to be blocked on the other listing to avoid a double booking.

Thanks!

As far as I understand your intention, this should work.

@Ry12 Just link the two calendars and it will block one when the other is booked. Once you have done this you can also, if you want, choose to block the smaller property calendar in high season. Or you can block the bigger property if you want to use the smaller one. Doing this does not block the other calendar which is great BUT if you want no one there then you must remember to block both calendars. Switching on pro tools in your account will help you see the calendars together.

Great! I will try this. Thanks for the information! It seems like this community knows more than airbnb itself! Take care @Mike-And-Jane0
