Hi everyone, I'm Zhuma, a Bai national minority girl from YUNNAN, a western province of China. In my hometown, my family has a very beautiful courtyard in the countryside, and we want to rent it. We do have a business license. But we don't know how to deal with it. It is 5km from LIJINAG national airport, we can pick up our guests, and the weather is quite comfortable, not too hot and not too cold, it is like spring forever. If you want to come, please contact me. We would be insanely grateful if you could offer any advice or experience!

Hi Zhuma @仙玉0 ! 😊
Your idea sounds lovely! A beautiful countryside courtyard with comfortable weather all year round and close to Lijiang airport is definitely attractive to travelers, especially those who want to experience authentic local life in Yunnan. Being only 5 km from the airport is a huge plus—it’s very convenient for guests, and offering pick-up is an extra nice touch that travelers really appreciate.
Here are some tips to get started:
Register and set up your listing properly: Make sure your Airbnb account is verified, upload clear photos showing the beauty and uniqueness of your courtyard, and write a friendly, detailed description. Highlight the convenient location, airport pickup, spring-like weather, and local experiences.
Pricing: Research similar properties in Lijiang and nearby areas to find a competitive starting price. You can always adjust later based on demand.
Guest experience: Think about small touches that make stays memorable—local tea, snacks, a guide to your village or nearby attractions. Personal touches often get excellent reviews.
Communication: Be responsive and clear. Guests value fast replies and helpful instructions for arrival and local guidance.
Rules & safety: Make sure your property is safe for guests and consider house rules. It’s better to be upfront about what’s included and what’s not.
Overall, I think this is a great idea! Lijiang is a popular tourist destination, and a unique, cozy property with easy access from the airport could do very well. Just start small, focus on great hospitality, and adjust as you learn.
Hi @仙玉0 😊,
Welcome to the Community Center, and good luck on this journey!
Do you know if anyone near you is also renting on Airbnb?
I’m also tagging a few experienced hosts in case they’d like to share some advice: @Joan2709, @Patricia2526, @Dave-and-Deb0 and @Oksana127.
Thank you in advance, everyone!
