I am trying to verify my mobile phone number, but always get the following error "Sorry, we cannot send verification code to this number. Please make sure you input the correct mobile number."
It is a German Mobile and I have selected the correct Präfix +49. I have tried my number with a leading 0 and without it. Both doesn´t work.
Looking forward for some advice.

My problem comes from having switched to an international roaming SIM. My trusty old Samsung S4 Zoom takes only one SIM, and I dropped my normal SIM somewhere in Hong Kong airport when I changed SIMs. So, I have hosts trying to contact me and because Airbnb won't let me change my phone number I am having a lot of communication problems.
I secerely inconvenienced my host in Venice yesterday because he could not contact me by phone.
There is also a problem with the company's policy of having guests and hosts only communicate via Airbnb website. It doesn't work if you don't have internet access, which happens a lot when you are travelling.
I can't see why cheap SIMs are such an issue. As guests we already have to provide two types of photo ID.
Help desk told me I would have to get another phone with a SIM they could verify. Honestly - what planet are these people on?
My issue is a little different - I can get the SMS and verify my number.
BUT I recently switched phones (not numbers or carrier, just the phone) I can't reinstall the app because the app insists on calling my number, not sending an SMS, and Airbnb cannot call my phone number, it can only text it.
I know this because I removed my number and re-added it and tried to have it verify by calling - ABB says it can't call. But when i verify by SMS, it's fine.
Anyone else having THAT issue? I prefer to use the app when I am traveling, though the site works on mobile browser OK it's not the same.
I also cant verify my phone number and its getting frustrating. Cant even put a number for the codes when booking. Can somebody help please. I’ve been putting my area code +63 since I’m from Philippines plus the seven other numbers but still saying “ERROR YOU’ll need another phone number, we can’t support this one” How can you fix this? Booking and using this app should’ve be this hard.🙄

Ok, this WORKED for me after getting the can't verify message - Went into the help section. Typed in verify phone number, and after a couple clicks it brought me to a place where I could punch in my phone number and Airbnb verified it by sending text to my phone (or phone call.). Don't understand the discrepancy and can't be more specific because now it has dissappeared since I did it. But it worked. Good luck.
Thanks Melanie. I had the same problem and AirBnb support was completely unhelpful, but this worked for me. It failed on the Step-By-Step page 2, but worked in the Edit Profile section.
Very poor and annoying system with no real support. Not everyone has a landline or just other numbers to choose from. I live abroad and they won't even do the call-in verification option through the skype U.S. based number even though I'm waiting to answer it (number not supported) and book a place tomorrow
Just given up trying to book an apartment in the Galapagos for two weeks.
Cannot verify my (UK) home, work or mobile phone. All of these are with a major telco.
I am off to book elsewhere now, no patience with nonsense, Airbnb are hopelessly off with whatever policy they are applying.

You don't come across many businesses who don't want to take your money!

I just created an account on Airbnb it's my first time to travel and my friends recommended Airbnb. I verified my phone number earlier and remove it for some purpose I added my second number (home) then I added my Primary number too and removed my second number. Now I can't verify my number it says I already attempted too many times to try and verify again so I can proceed for my payment. Please help me, my flight is on the 1st of September 2019.
My profile is verified I submitted an Identification Card with my picture and my work details, email address and facebook account.
Please help me verify my phone number in this account. I appreciate your kind and urgent assistance.

Can some please help me? I have the same issue I’m trying to book something and it tells me I can’t verify my phone number. Please help! It tells me I tried to many time but there is no code or anything
I have tried to verify my number, however after several attempts, it now gives me the error message that I have reached my max attempts to verify my number and need to try again later. Anyone has any idea how long I have to wait, as its now been hours and still the problem persists.
