I am trying to verify my mobile phone number, but always get the following error "Sorry, we cannot send verification code to this number. Please make sure you input the correct mobile number."
It is a German Mobile and I have selected the correct Präfix +49. I have tried my number with a leading 0 and without it. Both doesn´t work.
Looking forward for some advice.

I have the same issue - I can't use my cell phone number. It's AT&T, not a cheap rate here today, gone tomorrow company. I've had this number for 10 years. How are we supposed to book if they don't accept phone numbers, but require a phone number?!
I have Verizon and am unable to verify my phone number... Getting error message, "You'll need to use a different phone number, we can't support this one."
Also having the same problem with a Verizon number I have had for over a decade. Tried to verify through the reservation page and just did not receive any text or call, then tried to do it under my profile and got the "cannot verify this number" message. Then "You have reached to maximum amount of attempts. Please try later. Contacted support twice. The first time they said to try it through a browser, not the app (I was on a browser), said they would try to look for more information then disappeared. Contact them again, and was told the verification process was locked out automatically for 24 hours, and I would have to try tomorrow and support would guide me through the process step by step.
It seems like a very simple system to send someone's phone a text message, automated or otherwise. I do not know why this is such an issue and I want to reserve my room as soon as possible.
Same here. I have had the same mobile (U.S.) number for over 20 years. Switched to Cricket Wireless in 2014, which is still on AT&T towers, and have never had any issues registering any accounts to using my number. I was told by Airbnb support that this could be the issue yet I have family members who have booked on Airbnb using their Cricket wireless numbers so this seems suspicious to me. Considering how many people I know who have switched to lower cost cellular providers, it seems like Airbnb is going to lose a lot of business. I do not have a 2nd phone number or land line and haven’t had the need for one in 20 years so there goes that 1 solution they offered.
I've been trying for 3 months to get my phone number (which I've had for 20 years) attached to my account. Apparently someone "verified" it and it's attached to someone else and 3 escalations to the product team have produced nothing. I'm trying to host my property and they can't fix this - why would I want to work with Airbnb?!?!
Go to your profile ... use edit.... add phone number... verify.

This is still an ongoing problem with the site. I tried booking a place just now and the site would not accept the same verification code that it sent to my phone. I am with Verizon, using an iPhone, so I do not think it has anything to do with the plan or make and model of the device. I tried so many times that I am now locked out of my account because of a failure on their part. The customer service representative is unable to do any override on his end, which is horrible. I was ready to seal the transaction, but alas, AirBNB refused my money. I am going to VRBO ^_^
hi, i am having the same issue. i am not getting the 4 digit code no matter what i do. the worst thing is i have verified this number before in 2017! but it is asking me to verify it again now and i cannot do it. any ideas?
I was unable to verify my cell phone number on a listing. Customer service recommended that I add the number to my personal profile. It worked there, and the number was then verified on the listing.
I was finally able to update my phone number - to the correct number , but the confirmation of the airbnb reservation went to the old number.
I had the same problem. So I started over from my MacBook (not my cell phone), using a different email address same phone number and it worked!
Thank you - I had to create a second account - which isn't ideal since I can't transfer my reviews, rating, etc.
I'm just surprised @Airbnb
