Canceled by Airbnb Admin

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well.

I'm Soni, a Superhost and Co-Host in Berat, Albania. I personally host 4 properties and co-host around 50 properties in town.

Recently, I faced an unusual situation where Airbnb admin canceled 66 reservations across several properties within just 2 minutes. I've contacted Airbnb support multiple times, but they only say they're "working on my case" without explaining why this happened or what I can do to recover the reservations.

Has anyone experienced something like this before, or do you have any advice on what I should do to get the reservations back?

Thanks for your help!

@Sulo4

Numerous other Hosts have experienced this for a variety of reasons.

Issue One

If it is a guest complaint like safety issue, undisclosed cameras, discrimination, report of a party at listing, or invasion of privacy, Airbnb usually suspends the listings but doesn't cancel bookings.

Issue Two

If there is a concern of fraud (or other illegal activity) duplication of listings to avoid negative reviews, or other violations of Airbnb's terms of service, they can cancel bookings and/or permanently suspend the listings.

If it is issue one, most hosts are able to identify some sort of issue with a recent guest that is the probable cause and usually Airbnb gives you a general idea. It usually takes 10 business days for Airbnb to complete their investigation and contact you regarding the outcome.

If issue two, they probably will not say anything about the reason until the investigation is done. No idea how long issue two will take to resolve?

Hi @Sulo4

Airbnb usually doesn’t mass-cancel bookings without a trigger. Some possible causes Security or Fraud Concerns, Listing Violations or System Glitch.

Have you noticed any warning emails or policy-related messages from Airbnb before this happened?
