I added dates to my booking. The charges for the reservation (one month) were not going to be processed for a couple of weeks but when the host confirmed the additional days the cost of the entire booking was charged. The payment is not going to go through. What will happen to my reservation? Will I be able to pay with another method so I don't lose the booking?
Hi @Lisa10864
When reservation details are modified (such as adding dates), Airbnb may reprocess the payment for the updated total amount. If the current payment method doesn’t go through, Airbnb will usually notify you and provide a window to update or add a new payment method.
Your reservation typically remains active during this period, but it’s important to update your payment details promptly to avoid any automatic cancellation.
I recommend checking your booking page and notifications for any payment update prompts, or reaching out to Airbnb support directly for immediate assistance. They’ll be able to guide you on securing your reservation without losing it.
Let me know if it helps 👍🏻
Thank you so much for the great advice, @Vivek143 🙏
@Lisa10864, have you been able to review Vivek’s suggestions? Have you also been in contact with the support team to get their advice?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for the responses. Adding dates did process the payment and it did go through to my bank earlier than scheduled. I didn't receive any advanced notice from Airbnb that the payment would be processed. It was an instant email that I was charged. Have handled that but not knowing what Airbnb tells the host, I reached out to the host to explain and that I would make sure payment was covered. Embarrassing way for a transaction to happen.
