Hello,
How will I know when a guest checks in? Do they communicate directly, or will airbnb send a notification? Is it just implied by the booking information? New host here.
Thank you for the info,

Hi @Tsering6
I'm also a newish host, so I'm sure there is better information from the others, but I found there is no notification system for check in unless the guest lets you know.
However, I use a smart lock system and assign a unique code to each guest, and I will get a notification on my phone when code has been used to unlock the door the first time. There is also the doorbell camera, so I know the guests have checked in, but that's about it.

Thank you, let's stay in touch! Good luck!
@Tsering6 when I looked at your listing I was confused as it says it is a private room in a shared house so surely you would know if someone checked in. I now suspect your listing is just set up slightly wrong and needs attention.
