Hi
how much time should this take after a stay ?
cheers

Hello @James4619
Well that very much depends on how big your place is and how many beds and bathrooms there are to clean. It will depend on whether you hire a professional team or just one person to clean - the variables are many and we don't have much to go on so tell us more!
Thanks for the reply - 1 room and 1 bathroom… no help at the moment (I’m still new in the UK) -
If you do the clean then you will know how long it will take you @James4619
Everyone's listing is different . For example I offer a room in my home but my guests have access to two bathrooms, a bedroom , dining room/lounge and kitchen .
also depends on whether you factor in washing of bed linens and towels .
@Helen3 I guess what I’m asking is that at what stage do you guys think it’s right to get in a third party to do it for you or is that just an extra expense ? For me personally I’m out of cleaning and washing is more than an hour 🙂
Good comments from other Hosts. As you get on in the bookings, if you have several bookings with same day turn-arounds, then you may want to consider a extra set of bed linens, towels,..
We conduct a high level of cleaning each time and two people working a 2 bedroom, 3 bed, 2 bathroom, kitchen, living area, large patio; it usually takes us 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on how many guests.
Hi @James4619,
The time needed for cleaning depends on the size of your place and how much tidying up is required after each stay. If you’re looking to streamline the process, you might find Soyhome ** helpful. It helps automate cleaning tasks and connect with reliable cleaners to make turnovers more efficient.
Hope that helps! Happy hosting! 😊

Hi James,
I would recommend, if possible, to test it out for yourself a few times. You would be surprised how much you could learn just from setting up your place a couple of times after guests. It depends on how many people stayed and how they left the listing. I have seen all extremes throughout my hosting, but if I have a neat couple or a solo traveler just using one bed and leaving the place clean, it can take a few hours, as opposed to a group of spring breakers trashing the place and breaking things that need fixing. Right now I have a couple of days blocked after two groups because I know I might not recognize the place after. For me power washing the boats and pumpout takes time as I am docked under a tree and a bunch of animal species use my space for a toilet. I also have to fill up water tank. Hiring someone that does everything at the right time and for the right fee expectation has been challenging for me, but it could be easier for a conventional place. Some guests can be like four leaf clovers, like it goes in Ireland and others have thorns that stick in you :), you know what I mean!
Good luck.
Rose.
Some great advice thanks
