Credit when host cancels?
In the past when a host canceled my stay (as a guest) Airbnb would refund me and give me a credit towards my next booking. Do they do that anymore? I just had a host cancel my stay a month out. Everything affordable in the area has been booked and I’m receiving a refund on the booking…but no “extra credit”
what changed? I thought the penalty Airbnb hits hosts that cancel with goes towards helping guests find a place and recompenses them for the inconvenience…
im not sure Airbnb does this anymore. Is the penalty charge for hosts just that?

Not having ever cancelled a guest, I’m not sure, but it might have something to do with how far out in time the booking is. 1 month out is less of a crisis than, say, 1 day out. Perhaps guests who are cancelled closer to check-in time are given extra credit.
