Demanding Guest Advice

would like to get some input from this community.  I have a renter for five weeks.  She has been here for three nights so far.  She has had lots of requests for things....and now, she is asking us to buy her a mattress topper for the bed because she has back and neck problems.  She says the mattress is too firm and she is not getting used to it.  At first, I thought, okay.  But she is so demanding in the way she asks....what do you all think?   Should we buy the mattress topper for her ($120)?   What do you think?  Just got superhost status and don't want to lose it.

By the way, other renters have told us that they love the mattresses which are about 1 year and 1/2 new.

Thank you for your help.

@Ben551Yes -Where is our Olga from Ukranie!

I seriously miss her posts. She is so original 😄

You would have the biggest belly laugh if you read her post especially about how you feel about "hosting attractive guests"

@Branka-and-Silvia0 Yay! Standing by 🙂

@Susie111, pretty sure the moderators removed that one! Only a few eyes got to see it 🙂

@Emilia42@Branka-and-Silvia0

😄 And That doesn't surprise me!

Our Olga makes this CC so much more fun 😄

@Emilia42 which one?

@Branka & Silvia, the one about which guests you find the most 'attractive' ... expect other bleeped out words were used 😉

...and that word started with an ''f'' and ended in ''able''.

Yup. Saw it, regrettably.

@Sandra126

I'm laughing so hard now!!!

I guess I saw the comical side of the that post 😄

@Branka-and-Silvia0Oh noooo!!!

You missed that one 😄

I wish we could meet for a coffee in Staroga grada and l would happily share that one.

I just wished Olga could join in also 😄

@Susie111@Emilia42

hahaha it seems I missed that one 😄

@Susie111

I think Olga said she is managing multiple long term lease buildings in Ukraine. Well, all those ex-communists countries are specific, I know it, I live in one.  Private property was not valued nor protected for decades. Tenants were used to living basically for free in properties owned by the city/state (previously abducted from private owners) and nobody was obligated to take care of the property. Many tenants just broke in and gain tenants rights. Majority of houses/buildings/ castles were ruined and totally devastated this way. The damage is uncountable.

Unfortunately, the tenant's mind is changing very very slowly. Even today, even in privately owned houses, tenants continue to expect all the rights with no obligations and responsibility whatsoever. For free of course. And the justice system is very slow and still often takes tenant's side.

I am sure that being an owner or building manager in Ukraine is a very demanding job and Olga has to be tough and protect private property like a Doberman or she would be eaten alive 🙂

Of course, the relationship between tenant-landlord is different then guest-host but hosting/managing style depends a lot of location/local laws and the type /mentality of guests/tenants.

So who knows Susie, maybe we would have the same military hosting style if we would host in Ukraine 🙂

@Branka-and-Silvia0

I believe you are absolutely right.

My mother is originally from Bosna but she moved away from Bosna in the 1970.

The culture is very different in East Europe 🙂

@Susie111really? Say Hi to your mum :))))

@Branka-and-Silvia0

Sure can 😄 !

She lives now in USA with my sister.

I know - we are so scattered all over This beautiful  planet.
