Hello @Elisa ,

I have hosted everyone from backpackers who washed their clothes daily to business professionals attending conferences. I do not advise guests on what to pack because I do not want to be responsible for any clothing decisions they make based on my suggestions. However, I always share the location of the nearest shopping mall, which is luckily a five minute drive from the property, in case they need to pick up something they forgot.

when a guest sends an inquiry and asks for a weather forecast six months in advance, I simply send a link to a weather website and consider it a red flag regarding their compatibility.

Hi @Guy991 😊

It's nice reading from you here.

You shared a valid point! How is the weather usually there?

Nope. And no one has ever asked. 🙂

For long-term guests (stays longer than one month) for our guest house, I let them know that I will provide additional supplies—including four sets of sheets, 20 bath towels, extra dishes, and detergents—so they’re aware and don’t need to bring these items with them.

Hi @Bobby-and-Edward0 😊

This is a nice thought from you.

Do they appreciate it, or do they prefer to take their things with them during longer stays?

@Elisa Our last long term guest responded back thanking us for information. They normally pack extra linens for past vacations.  But  this time, saved room for their books, fishing gear, etc.  instead.

Hi @Bobby-and-Edward0 😊

Thank you for letting me know!

Absolutely, if you furnish them, it’s better not to bring other things.

How long did your last long-term guest stay at your listing?

@Elisa our last long-term guest stayed with us for 2 months

Hi @Bobby-and-Edward0 😊

That’s fantastic!

Was it for work or for pleasure?

Nope.

They're grownups and can makle their own decisions.

Not my role to poke my nose into someonen elses business who I know nothing about

Hi @Chris23652 😊

Thank you for sharing your perspective here.

I get your point. Do you have more family guests or solo travelers?

No. Normally I do not. But I do sometimes report on the weather.

Hi @Brenda1721 😊

Thank you for commenting here.

What is the weather typically like where you live?
