Elevating Guests Experience By Providing Additional Services

Elevating Guests Experience By Providing Additional Services

Hi everyone! 👋

I’d love to hear what has worked well for other hosts when it comes to offering add-ons or experiences to guests.

Our property is located in the countryside near several wineries, and we’re exploring ways to elevate our guests’ stay with optional experiences. We’re thinking of things like wine-related experiences, curated picnic setups, small welcome packages, or other countryside-style touches that make the stay feel more special.

For those of you who offer extras:

  • What types of add-ons or experiences have been most popular with your guests?

  • Do you charge separately or bundle them into certain stays?

  • How do you present or market them (guidebook, message after booking, Airbnb Experiences, etc.)?

  • Any lessons learned or things that didn’t work?

I’d really appreciate hearing what systems or ideas have worked for you. We’re always looking for thoughtful ways to create memorable stays without making things overly complicated on the hosting side.

Thanks in advance! 😊

Joan

Hi @Joan-And-Luis1 - I have had success when I offered to do shopping for the guests before arrival, and also offering pre-cooked meals, especially if they are arriving fairly late.  A salad and lasagne or something similar seems to be popular. This is an extra cost for them.

If shopping for them before arrival, a % of the cost of the shopping or a flat added fee works.

Hope this helps.

I charge a little more for my 1 hot meal per day.

I'm created a "Digital Concierge" app for my listings, so guests can either the provided tables, or reach the website I created with their phones. This app has sections like house manuals, recommended restaurants, attractions, local events, live buses to and from the property, and even weather.

I got a very positive reaction from my guests, and I presented it to other hosts I'm helping, and that's going great 🙂

Not sure if I could show it here, but I'm happy to share a demo link if anybody is interested.

I provide one hot meal per day... some days its pancakes and sausage, or a chef salad, or crockpot of chili with baked potato, crockpot beans side of rice.... guests love it!
