Failure to apply booking credit

I had a booking cancelled and agreed to have the fee applied as a booking credit as I had two make another booking to replace the one that was cancelled. When I rebooked the credit was not applied and full payment was taken. When I questioned this I was told that it takes 72 hours for the credit to appear on your account. I now have £475.26 sitting in a credit account and they will not reimburse it. They are holding it to be used against a future booking....and refuse to refund it. I have therefore paid twice, once for the cancelled booking and then again for the new booking.

Under no circumstances should you agree to have any fees applied to a credit account ALWAYS take the full refund. If that booking credit is not applied - because Airbnb decide what the rules are - you are left with a balance - in my case £475.26 - that they keep and you have to HOPE they apply it to any future bookings - even though you may NEVER want to book anything with them again!!!

NEVER ALLOW THEM TO APPLY A REFUND TO A CREDIT ACCOUNT THEY WILL NOT APPLY IT.

@Siobhan162 what Airbnb has done is technically illegal in England. IF @Helen3 's idea doesnt work I would take them to the small claims court.
