Why does Airbnb allow companies that act as property managers to make up names and use stock internet photos showing the hosts as someone that is fake while not disclosing they are a managment company? How is that ethical? When I use Airbnb as a guest, I want to know who the actual host is, even if it's a managment company, and not some made up name with a internet picture they use. Why is this allowed, and why is there not a filter to allow me to choose if I want to rent from an owner instead of a property management company?
Then book listings where it is shown as being an individual host rather than a management company @David11013
I wish it was that easy. The problem is management companies using a indivual or couples names in the listing, and never disclosing it is actually ran by a managment company
Maybe because it is hard to detect on Airbnb's part the difference. The reviews of most places by guests do usually are quite informative on who is running a place. Granted manage companies can be very tricky.
It normally says under the host section towards the bottom of a listing
this is mine
thanks for the information. But if you operate in the UK I've read Airbnb is required to show information if it is a property manager or owner, but in the US it is not.
