Feeling sick

Just had my beautiful little Lodge used as a ** laundry for 3 days. I found 4 empty packets of washing pods and 4 empty bottles of conditioner. The washing machine must have been running constantly from their arrival to their departure. There was washed laundry everywhere, in the summerhouse all over the Patio and draped over doors.

I have a no pets policy to avoid pet hair contamination and possible damage, no problem to these people  they just sneaked a dog in behind my back. The shower contained an empty bottle of dog shampoo, dog claw clippings, and blood on the walls of the shower, the mind boggles.

To finish off they left the sink full of filthy dishes pots and pans and the whole place dirty.

Need to keep a closer eye on what is going on in your property during a stay, and unfortunately be less trustful. I know, not pleasant, but perhaps now more necessary than ever.

Hi @David9937 ,

I am so sorry to hear what happened to your beautiful lodge!

Did you happen to connect with the guests or Airbnb Support regarding this situation you were left with?

You need to install a camera inside and outside the home.  If you can stop by an pay a welcome visit to introduce yourself.

@Sharon683  Having an inside camera is the best way to have your AirBnB shut down in two seconds flat.

Do you want to be watched while you're a guest at someone's property? Super creepy.

I've seen some hosts who rent multiple rooms at the same property (so guests who are strangers to each other are sharing common areas),disclose that they have cameras in the common areas, but the minute a guest complains, those hosts will get shut down regardless of the fact that the cameras were disclosed.

There are other ways to monitor guest activity including outside cameras, noise and Bluetooth monitoring systems.

Outside camera/Ring doorbell- yes. Inside camera- bad advice- NO!

What do your house rules say about laundry @David9937

CCTV is a great way of ensuring only guests (human and four legged) who have booked are at your listing.

sound like horrible guests do charge them for a deep clean and leave an honest review

Really!?  That is the first time I have heard of inside cameras being a problem.  I have a camera in the common area only.   All is disclosed on my Airbnb site.  I will need to reconsider having a inside camera.  Thanks
