I have a renter that is supposed to be checking in in 3 days and I just got a messaged saying one of her flights got cancelled (she had 12 nights booked). I have the firm cancelation policy in place. She is asking if this would go under "major disruptive event". How would you all handle this?
If her flight cancellation is due to something widespread for example, a government shutdown grounding flights, a major airline strike, or a weather event closing airports then Airbnb may consider it a covered event.
But if it’s just a routine airline cancellation or delay, it would fall under your firm cancellation policy, meaning your regular rules apply. A flight cancellation on its own usually does not qualify as a “major disruptive event.”
